    …however, Clark …
…however, Clark left the series because of a salary dispute after the 1952-’53 season, and Larry Keating became the fourth (and longest-lasting) “Harry Morton” for the rest of the series, as well as the short-lived follow-up series [after Gracie retired], “THE GEORGE BURNS SHOW” (NBC, 1958-’59). Hal March, on the other hand, was always welcomed by George to appear in “guest star roles” {until he became host of “THE $64,000 QUESTION” in 1955}.

    The role of “Harry …
The role of “Harry Morton” changed considerably during the first season, ‘globalman’. Originally, Hal March played “Harry” during the last season of George & Gracie’s “Ammi-dent” radio show (1949-’50, CBS), continuing into the live TV series. However, he left at the end of December 1950, with John Brown taking his place {Brown was later blacklisted from TV and radio}. Six months later, Fred Clark replaced him, and continued through the first filmed season (1952-’53)….

  3. As you seem quite …
As you seem quite informed….do you know when they switched the Harry Morton role. Just watched an episode where Hal March played Harry (Bluebird Matrimonial Rep. in this show) ????

  4. Such good, simple …
Such good, simple and gentle fun. Obviously I see and understand it differently now then I did as a small boy growing up in nyc. But somehow I watch this and feel calm which is never the case when I visit the states and view anything on tele these days. I missed the “say goodnight gracie” on this episode.

    At 4:33, Harry Von …
At 4:33, Harry Von Zell originally stepped in front of the curtain and said, “Carnation will bring back George & Gracie in just a moment. Next week, George & Gracie will be brought to you by B.F. Goodrich..”, and a one minute spot for the “alternate sponsor” followed. There was a “curtain call” by the Burnses at the end of the original telecast {“And now, here are Carnation’s contented couple, George & Gracie..”}, but it’s missing from this syndicated print.
